If you need a ride to the beach in the morning or back to your hotel at night, the Aruba taxi service is there for you every day of the week. Aruba cab fares are set and should be reviewed ahead of time if you plan on taking one. Afl12.60/US$7.00 is the cheapest option. During the hours of 11:00 pm to 7:00 am on Sundays, official holidays, and normal days, there is an additional fee. To and from the airport, each traveler is permitted one piece of carry-on luggage. Afl 3.60 / US$2.00 every piece of luggage is added to the Aruba taxi rate. Local taxicab serviceTaxi fares in Aruba are predetermined. Regulations have been put in place by the Aruban government regulating the minimum fare, surcharges that apply on particular days and at specific hours, the amount of luggage that can be transported by each passenger, and so on. As a result, taxi drivers on Aruba are prohibited from charging customers anything other than the set fares set by the government of Aruba. This service has a minimum fare of $7.00. (or 12.60 Aruban florins). • Surcharges: On Sundays, on official holidays, and from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on ordinary days, there is an additional charge of US$3.00 (or 5.40 Aruban florins). At a charge of US$50.00 (or 90.00 Aruban florins) per hour, taxis in Aruba can be hired for use. Taxi Luggage Allowances and Additional Luggage Charges Only one piece of luggage and a "back/hand pack-bag" are permitted for each traveler. For each additional piece of luggage, passengers will be charged US$2.00 (or 3.60 Aruban florins). In accordance with the government's laws, however, "[a]ttache cases, laptop cases, carry on's and any form of equipment/aid that is necessary for the passenger's mobilization cannot be taxed." Carry-ons and "back/hand pack-bags" are two terms that can be perplexing. As a result, the Official Aruba Taxi Price List (2018-2022) does not clearly define what constitutes a "carry-on" and whether additional "back/hand pack-bags" are charged. So if possible, consolidate your belongings and ask your taxi driver about additional luggage fees before getting in the vehicle. A luggage fee of US$2.00 (or 3.60 Aruban florins) is imposed if you need to utilize the trunk of a cab while moving between hotels. |
